Statewide Day of Prayer for Our Nation
Sunday, November 1, 2020
Your church is invited to participate in this very important time of prayer for the country.
A Message from Tim Cox:
Alabama Baptists, I invite you to join together on Sunday, November 1, 2020, for a special Statewide Day of Prayer for Our Nation, especially for spiritual awakening and revival. Our nation is in obvious crisis, and the only way our nation will get back on its feet is for God’s people to get on their knees. Here are some ways your church might consider participating:
- Take time in during Sunday worship on November 1 to pray specifically for our nation.
- Call out to God for spiritual awakening and revival. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
- Pray for those who are in leadership.(1 Timothy 2:1-4)
- Pray for a peaceful and fair process for voting on Tuesday, November 3.(Romans 12:18; 13:1-7)
Much is at stake in the current situation we face in America. The time is now for the Church to be the pillar of truth and light in the midst of darkness. This is not political; it is Biblical.
One thing has been confirmed to me during the past two years while serving as your Convention president: Alabama Baptists are a praying people! Let’s join together on November 1 to pray for our nation. May God be merciful and bring revival to His people and a spiritual awakening in our land!
Tim Cox is president of the Alabama Baptist State Convention and senior pastor of Liberty Baptist Church in Chelsea.
