Senior Pastor

Bethlehem East Baptist Church (BEBC) located in the Kent Community of Tallassee, Alabama is seeking a part-time senior pastor that will lead and guide the church to the next level of ministry for our members and community.
BEBC, a Southern Baptist Church, is celebrating its 180th year. Church membership is primarily a more mature and senior population, but we are looking to grow our children, youth and young adult reach. Our style of worship is more traditional with a focus on time-honored hymns with a mix of contemporary touches.
As a body of believers, our responsibilities are to follow:
• The Baptist Faith and Message (2000)
• The Great Commandment (Mark 12:30-31)
• The Great Commission (Mathew 28: 19-20)
Our Pastor will be responsible for:
• Leading the Church to function as a New Testament Church through development and delivery of biblically based weekly sermons and other occasions and events.
• Working with others to plan, lead and participate in meaningful worship services and events.
• Providing pastoral care and encouragement to members including visiting, counseling and other forms of support for those in need.
• Working with leadership and the congregation to develop a vision and plan for church growth.
• Supporting and participating in church spiritual growth among church members and the community through bible studies, small groups and other educational and
fellowship opportunities.
• Engaging and building relationships within the local community, participating in outreach and mission activities, and collaborating with other organizations to
address community needs.
Performing other pastoral duties, including weddings, funerals, baptisms, and dedications, as required.
Preferred candidates will have 5 or more years of experience in a church leadership role and have received formal training in church leadership; however, other applicants are encouraged to apply.
