Beechwood Baptist Church is seeking a faithful, Spirit-led Senior Pastor who is called by God to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ, shepherd the church body, and lead with wisdom, humility, and conviction. We are a Southern Baptist congregation committed to the inerrant and infallible Word of God as the sole authority for faith and practice. Located just north of Birmingham in Mount Olive, AL, Beechwood is a loving, multigenerational congregation that desires to grow spiritually, reach our community, and make disciples of all nations.
The Senior Pastor will provide visionary spiritual leadership for the church, faithfully preach the Word, equip the saints for ministry, and oversee all aspects of church life. He will work alongside the deacons, staff, and ministry leaders to foster a culture of biblical teaching, prayer, worship, evangelism, and service.
Primary Responsibilities:
Preaching & Teaching.
Prepare and deliver biblically sound, Christ-centered sermons that reflect a high view of Scripture.
Lead in teaching and defending the Bible as the infallible, inerrant Word of God.
Provide leadership for worship services, ordinances (baptism and Lord's Supper), and special services.
Spiritual Leadership & Vision:
Cast a compelling, biblically grounded vision for the church's future in line with the Great Commission.
Encourage prayerful dependence on God and cultivate spiritual growth among members.
Pastoral Care:
Shepherd the congregation by providing counseling, visitation, and spiritual support t members and families.
Officiate weddings, funerals, and other significant life events.
Discipleship & Evangelism:
Promote disciple-making through Bible study, small groups, and mentorship.
Lead the church in intentional evangelism and local/global missions.
Administrative Oversight:
Provide leadership to church staff and ministry leaders through supervision, encouragement, and accountability.
Work collaboratively with deacons, committees, and teams to manage church operations and decision-making.
Qualifications:
A clear testimony of personal salvation and vibrant, growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
A firm commitment to the Bible as the infallible and inerrant Word of God.
Agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.
Ordained as a minister of the gospel, with relevant ministry experience.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in theology, biblical studies, or ministry from an accredited institution.
Demonstrated experience in preaching, leadership, discipleship, and pastoral care.
Strong relational and communication skills with a heart for shepherding a diverse congregation.
A servant leader who leads with humility, integrity, and faithfulness.

Beechwood Baptist Church is a cooperating church of the Southern Baptist Convention, the Alabama Baptist State convention, and the North Jefferson Baptist Association. The Senior Paster is expected to support and engage with these ministry partners.
