Associate Pastor, City Engagement and Next Generations
The Church at the Oaks, Tuscaloosa, AL

Objective
Assist the Lead Pastor in fulfilling the mission of sending disciple-makers of Jesus by being disciple-makers of Jesus.

Direct Report
This role reports directly to the Lead Pastor and serves in as part of Oaks’ senior leadership team.

Assignments
Provide responsible, strategic, and successful leadership to the following items.

City Engagement:
• Create and implement a strategy that reaches and disciples our city.
• Provide organizational leadership to our City and Next Generation Ministries.
• Create and manage a ministry budget responsibly.
• Equip, empower, encourage, and evaluate directors and key leaders
• Provide healthy leadership to the hiring and managing of staff deployed to the City and Next Generation.
• Manage all programming and calendars

Pastoral Ministry
• Assist with preaching, teaching, weddings, funerals, counseling, and pastor care. o Assist in the leadership of interns and residents.

Executive Leadership
• Manage the church leadership pipeline.
• Develop and manage the administration and stewardship of human, financial, physical, and ministry resources.

Requirements
• Call to vocational ministry.
• Embodies 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:7-9
• Alignment with the theological positions, statement of faith, culture, mission, vision, and values of Church at the Oaks
• Master’s degree or higher in theology, ministry, or a related field
• Significant relevant ministry experience
• Ability to create, organize, cast vision, and guide culture
• High personal character, strong spiritual maturity, and excellent interpersonal skills
• Digital proficiency Team Expectations:
• Work alongside the Pastoral Team to provide organizational vision, shape culture, and lead leaders across the church.
• Be a thriving disciple and disciple-maker.
• Embrace and live the mission both as a staff member and resident in the city.
• Lead and participate in set up, tear down, events, and other activities across the church
• Possess a can-do and will-do attitude to help us get to the next step in our development.
