Hi my name is Scooter Kellum and I’m the youth ministry strategist for the Alabama State Board of Missions. I work in the office of Collegiate and Student Ministries and a part of my responsibilities is youth ministry around the state.
We have designed and created a new brand for our office called YM Link.
Why YM Link?
What could we do that would benefit youth pastors…what is our purpose, our goal, our mission and vision for the state of Alabama and youth ministry? Our goal is to partner with you, to connect with you.
We as the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions are here for the church, to partner with churches to make everything that we do a better experience for our churches to grow and to make disciples. We want to connect with you, and connect is a word that has been used often. Another word though is Link. So Youth Ministry Link, YM Link was created.
The visualization I had was a chain link fence: something that keeps people out but also that is tough and strong. I also thought about kind of linking arms together as something that we do with youth pastors around the state of Alabama so that we can be a stronger force for the gospel and for the kingdom. Co-laborers come along side each other, partnering with one another and linking together.
We are excited about this journey as it is just beginning but we are ask for you to come along side of us and partner with us as we come along side of you and partner with you. We want to help you. We want to resource you. We want to train you, but also we want to give you places and event that you can bring your students so that they can get fed spiritually. We are so grateful for the opportunity to partner with you and link with you.
