VBS Live trains, prepares leaders for a summer of sharing Jesus

Patty Burns said she’s starting to see a “flood” of churches posting their Vacation Bible School dates for this summer.

From her perspective as VBS strategist for the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions, that’s exciting.

“I pray this year our churches are standing room only as we magnify God,” Burns said.

She’s encouraged by how many leaders from around the state attended the VBS LIVE kickoff events in March — more than 600 gathered across the three locations, Enterprise, Huntsville and Montgomery.

Encourage and equip

The events were designed to help encourage and equip associational and church VBS directors and leaders in preparation for VBS in their churches and associations.

“Not only were our numbers higher this year, but there was such a sweet spirit and enthusiasm at each location,” Burns said. “The VBS team led with much passion as they equipped Alabama VBS leaders to prepare to share Jesus with their churches and communities.”
