During the month of July, we at your State Board of Missions have been reconsidering the SBOM’s relationship with X (formerly known as Twitter).
After further reflection, we’ve reached the conclusion that X and other social media platforms each serve simply as parts of what some have called an online interstate highway and transportation system.
As such, even as we travel alongside those with whom we disagree, we can continue to strive to be salt and light. Therefore, we will be reengaging with X as part of this overall system, aiming for increased communication with Alabama Baptists about the ministries and overall mission of your State Board of Missions.
Like other social media platforms, X is imperfect and we continue to disagree with its new policies, realizing this is not a perfect world but, in fact, a fallen one. But we do understand that communicating, in a variety of ways and on major platforms, is key for us in sharing about our one mission, the Great Commission.
