Executive Ministry Assistant

Position Summary:
• The Ministry Assistant will provide administrative and preparatory support for the Executive Pastor and Church Administrator as well as the Senior Pastor as needed.
• The Ministry Assistant will support executive level and pastoral ministries such as Executive Team, Elders, Deacons, human resources, facilities, and the missions team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
• Ministry support and preparation under the guidance of the Executive Pastor for staff leadership, church governance, vision implementation, and overall leadership of the church.
• Administrative support for the Church Administrator in the areas of human resources, compliance, legal documentation at state and federal levels, and maintaining employment records and processes implemented by the office of the Church Administrator.
• Facilities support for the Church Administrator as needed to record and ensure the proper use and regular maintenance of church facilities.
• Oversee wedding policy for the church in cooperation with the Executive Pastor
• Generate weekly staff meeting agenda in cooperation with Administrator and Executive Pastor
• Generate and maintain churchwide communications via text, website, constant contact, and the church’s app.
• Support the Missions Team through planning and preparing for meeting space, meals, documentation of actions taken, allocation of funds, and connecting with Missions Team members and mission partners to maintain accurate accounts an records of mission partner activities and goals.
• Answer phones and welcome appointments as they come into the church office as needed
• This position demands a person with a strong work ethic and attention to detail. Also, because of the level of leadership teams and the content of discussion in those meetings, confidentiality is extremely important in this position. Prior experience working in church environments in a similar role is a requirement.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):

Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree required; previous experience in a church office setting required; experience in human resources or administration preferred

Knowledge and Skills: Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint required; organizational and administrative acumen required; excellent written communication skills (including editing for content and grammatical accuracy) required

Licenses, Registrations, and Certificates: None

Spiritual Requirements:
• Must be a committed and growing follower of Jesus Christ who regularly practices biblical reading, study, prayer, and personal and corporate worship.
• Must make growing in spiritual maturity a priority in their private life. Indicators of such prioritized maturity would be observed through growing in the fruit of the Spirit while eschewing the sins of the flesh (Galatians 5:22-26; Ephesians 5:1-7).
• Must be confident in their identity in Christ so that instruction, correction, and constructive criticism can be made and received in ways that honor Christ.
