Job Title: Director of Children’s Ministry
Reports To: Senior Pastor

Good Hope Baptist Church is a conservative, rural, community church with a bright future for ministry and growth in a rapidly growing area in the Eclectic community. We are mission-minded and supportive of our local association, state convention, and Southern Baptist Convention. We are prayerfully searching for someone who demonstrates a genuine love for children with a passion to lead and guide children and their families to understand and embrace our mission to mobilize all people to become followers of Jesus and to willingly serve Him.
We, as a church body, are seeking a Full-Time Children’s Director who possesses the following:
• Belief in the inerrancy of the Bible
• Theological alignment with the 2000 Baptist Faith and Message
• Proven skills in teaching and outreach
• The ability to provide quality interaction with parents, staff, and leaders
• Effective writing and verbal communication skills
• Personal computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Willingness to allocate at least an average of 40 hours per week to this position, and live within a reasonable distance to the church.
The Children’s Director will be responsible for:
• Coordinating with the Senior Pastor in planning, developing, coordinating, directing and evaluating a comprehensive Children’s ministry that focuses on the spiritual growth and well-being of children and their families to spread the Gospel of Christ.
• Providing leadership for all children’s ministries from nursery through 6th grade.
• Directing ministry activities for Children to ensure the unsaved receive the message of Christ.
• Faithfully growing the children in their relationship with Jesus so they can be effective disciples in spreading the Good News of Christ Jesus.
• Working with lay leaders to provide direction in the Children’s Choir.
• Cultivating a positive Christ-centered relationship with the local Elementary and Middle School staff and students. Growing this relationship to become a Christian mentor to staff and children by volunteering in school activities to represent Christ and Good Hope Baptist in the local school system.
• Incorporating routine positive games, activities, trips, retreats, and camps to cultivate Biblical learning and Christian growth.
Required Qualifications:
• Must be a born-again believer with a maturing relationship with Christ evidenced by a servant’s heart in behavior, action and attitude.
• A proven, genuine love for children and evidence of a calling to serve in this ministry.
• A demonstrated high level of organizational and humble leadership skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work alongside, communicate easily with and maintain a healthy relationship with leadership, coworkers, children, families, church members and volunteers.
• Promotion of a positive, Kingdom-honoring attitude in all work activities.
• Ability to use discretion when faced with confidential and sensitive matters.
We believe God will do great things! The Good Hope Children’s department currently gathers Sunday mornings (9:15am & 10:30am), Sunday evenings (5:00pm), and Wednesday evenings (6:30pm).
