Job description:
Multi-role full-time staff position. Provide leadership in the management of the church finance, personnel, and facilities management.
Responsibilities:
Budget and Finance:
- Coordinate the preparation of the annual church budget with the Finance Team. Provide information to the Finance Team to monitor actual results vs. budget.
- Direct and oversee the accounting system for the church with periodic review through the Finance Team. Lead the preparation of the annual audit of church finances. Maintain and reconcile bank and any investment accounts. Process any non-cash donations (i.e. stock or other properties). Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local taxing requirements. Investigate reporting discrepancies.
- Process, oversee, and maintain systems, processes, and procedures to maintain online giving contributions. Periodic review with the Finance Team.
- Work alongside Trustees to maintain the inventory of church property and equipment. Includes periodic evaluation of the insurance needs of the church on equipment and property.
Personnel:
- Implement and maintain the human resource policies, programs, and systems of the church. Periodic review with the Personnel Team.
- Annual review of the church wage and salary structures and benefit packages and recommend updates and / or revisions to the Personnel Team. Coordinate and review health and dental insurance programs.
- Maintain all employee records of PTO used including vacation days, sick days, and all other paid time off.
- Work with and through the Senior Pastor’s Administrative Assistant regarding public recognition services for staff.
- Payroll processing and accounts payable fill in as needed.
- Maintain current and secure personnel data files. Performs all criminal background checks.
Facilities Management:
- Directs the management of the church facilities, buildings, vehicles, property, and equipment. Procure and perform routine maintenance on office and computer equipment. Maintain email accounts, telephone / voicemail systems.
- Work through the Ministerial Staff and Team leaders for classroom assignments, meetings, and special activities.
- Oversees all aspects of the maintenance and housekeeping staff including duties, responsibilities, and schedules.
- Work with the Major Maintenance Team regarding building issues.
- Oversees care and maintenance of church grounds (i.e. signs, lights, grass, landscaping, etc.)
Leadership and administration:
- Major involvement and interaction with the church website, social media, publicity and promotion, IT support, and other areas. Works with the Senior Pastor to determine needs that support the church vision.
- Assists in providing leadership, and oversees and executes the administration of the church through appropriate ministry leadership teams, and ensures the completion of business, facility, and logistical support functions through those teams.
- Perform ongoing process improvement in all aspects of assigned job responsibilities.
- Staff positions are expected to tithe.
- Staff positions and families should be involved in the church Life Group program.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- Experience in church planning, strategy and financial oversight
- Proven leadership managing teams of paid and unpaid staff
- Experience in office automation software
Reporting Relationship:
Accountable to the church body, the Deacon body, and the Personnel Team, directly reporting to the Senior Pastor.
