Murphy Hill Baptist Church in Toney, Alabama, is seeking a part-time Minister of Music as we grow our evangelism and discipleship efforts in the Toney, AL, community. The Music Minister’s responsibilities will be leading and developing the worship team (piano player, choir, etc.) at Murphy Hill while inspiring the expansion of the team. Objectives include offering a blended style of music in the worship service while also improving overall musical performance and experience.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Lead and assist in all programming & rehearsals pertaining to the Sunday and Wednesday evening services, including directing song selection and arrangements.
• Lead/coordinate special music.
• Seek out and develop talent within the congregation.
• Responsible for scheduling regular choir practices.
• Arrange and perform cantatas during special occasions such as Christmas and Easter.
• Maintain a level of excellence during weekend services musically.
• Pray for staff, worship team, and worship ministries.
