• General Description
o The mission of Woodward Avenue Baptist Church is to be a faith family marked by our core values of Biblical Authority, Genuine Discipleship, Gospel Community, and Kingdom Advancement. Through these core values, we will equip all believers to impact the Shoals and the world with the life changing news of Jesus Christ. The Associate Pastor will dedicate his life to pursuing our mission as a key member of our pastoral leadership at WABC.
o The Associate Pastor is responsible for creating, managing, and executing the aspects of our church that engages the heart and mind in worship and disciple-making ministries. The Associate Pastor will provide primary oversight in two key areas of our church:
WORSHIP MINISTRIES
Including direct oversight of worship gatherings, especially Sunday morning services and worship leadership
DISCIPLESHIP MINISTRIES
This includes Sunday School, Bible Study Groups, Assimilation, Equipping Families, Assisting Ministry Director positions
• Qualifications
o Must meet the qualifications provided for the office of pastor in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9
o Must demonstrate a clear call to vocational ministry
o Bachelor’s degree or higher in ministry related field preferred
o Sufficient ministry experience in leading worship and in pastoral roles
o Be in agreement with our statement of faith (Baptist Faith and Message 2000) and our church covenant (woodwardavenuebaptist.org/covenant)

Responsibilities and Expectations
• General Pastoral Duties
Provide Pastoral Care for the Congregation at WABC under the direction and guidance of the Senior Pastor
Conduct weddings/funerals
Provide Biblical counseling
Attend staff meetings
Attend worship services
Worship Ministries
• Plan Biblically founded and meaningful worship gatherings with Senior Pastor
• Provide pastoral, visionary, and directional leadership for WABC worship gatherings
• Disciple, mentor, recruit, develop, and schedule worship ministry leadership, choir members, and tech team volunteers
• Lead weekly rehearsals for weekly worship gatherings (Praise Team, band, choir)
• Collaborate with staff about their worship gatherings (students, kids, adults, etc.)
• Create annual budget for the worship ministry with Senior Staff
• Be accessible, approachable, and lead with a relational, pastoral heart
• Be proficient in Planning Center, worship technologies, as well as sound, lighting, and live streaming systems.
Discipleship Ministries
• Provide pastoral, visionary, and directional leadership for WABC Discipleship Ministries (Sunday School, Bible Study Groups)
• Develop and oversee leadership development and discipleship process alongside Senior Pastor
• Develop healthy relationships with our ministerial teams and leadership
• Determine the ministry needs of our church, help members identify their gifting, and develop systems to help people serve
• Develop and recruit leaders and volunteers to serve on ministry related teams including Sunday School, Bible Study, welcome team, guest follow up and assimilation
