Child Abuse Prevention

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, but with MinistrySafe every month is dedicated to preventing child sexual abuse. This month, the goal is to equip parents. As reports of child sexual abuse continue to appear in headlines, parents are seeking resources to understand and address the risk of sexual abuse.

MinistrySafe’s new two-part Parent Training is designed to help parents better understand what they can do to protect their children from sexual abuse. The training provides parents with facts and information to recognize offenders’ “grooming processes” even before a child is targeted for abuse.

During the entire month of April, MinistrySafe is making the Parent Training free for everyone. Visit MinistrySafe.com/April to access this training and other parent resources.

I have seen the Parent Training, and it is excellent. Unique to this training is the mother/daughter conversation between attorney Kimberlee Norris and her daughter Georgia. Kimberlee explains ways parents can talk to their children about human sexuality beginning at an early age and how the child can avoid inappropriate behavior on the part of others. I encourage every parent to watch this training.
