I never tire of reflecting upon the Lord’s Prayer. There is always something new we can learn.
We have been focusing on the Lord’s Prayer for the past two weeks during our Online Call to Prayer at 10 a.m. Wednesdays.
This next emphasis will be about praying for daily bread – the sustenance of life. Of course, we will also pray that each of us will have a forgiving spirit – to forgive as we have been forgiven.
Those are two very important needs in our lives:
- to remind ourselves that He is the Bread of Life and that He gives us daily bread.
- to remember that He is the One who has forgiven us and that we are to be forgiving toward others.
The next online experience – at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 6 – will focus on the two petitions mentioned above: daily bread and a forgiving spirit.
This will be the concluding time together for these online prayer calls. I have enjoyed and been blessed through these 11 weeks of online gathering, as we’ve been reminded together of the power and blessing of God’s people praying together.
Thank you for being a part of this. The primary purpose of our prayers has been, of course, to speak with our Lord. It has been a time that has encouraged and enriched me in the midst of this unusual and unique timeframe.
I hope it has likewise been a blessing for the hundreds of Alabama Baptists who have participated. May God continue to bless us with His guidance, giving us a desire to glorify Him and to spread His love through evangelism, missions, and ministry in Christ’s name.
