For Mom & Dad:
God desires for us to worship Him and Him alone. Worship means to ascribe worth to God. Worship is an act that we offer to God. Worship is not just a Sunday occurrence. Our lives are to be an act of worship as well. Daily we are to allow God to sit on the throne of our lives and to offer to Him our praise, thanks and service.
“The first day of the week is the Lord’s Day. It is a Christian institution for regular observance. It commemorates the resurrection of Christ from the dead and should include exercises of worship and spiritual devotion, both public and private. Activities on the Lord’s Day should be commensurate with the Christian’s conscience under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.”- Baptist Faith and Message, Part VIII
Read Together: Romans 12:1; Colossians 3:16; Hebrews 10:25; Psalms 100
Big Idea for Kids: Worship means to place someone as the most important thing in your life. We treat God as the most important thing to us by singing songs to Him, praying to Him, reading the Bible, and doing what He wants. We can worship anytime and anywhere. We gather with other Christians on Sundays to worship together.
Learning Question: What is worship? Why do we go to Church on Sunday?
