The annual Baptist Communicators Association workshop was held virtually this week and the State Board of Missions received several honors during the awards competition. In the Interactive Communications division, four websites were honored. Speak.YMLink.org and OneGreatSunday.org received first place awards in their categories, and RickLance.com and PreachingPoint.org, both redesigned last year, received second-place awards in their categories. We are grateful for our partnership with Dogwood Media Solutions in the areas of website, social media, and email marketing and all they do to help us communicate our message. These awards are a reflection of their wonderful expertise in these areas.

In the Design division, third place awards went to Jesse Conte for a new Evangelism office logo and for a series of Church Planter Prayer Cards. In the Photography division, a photo entitled “The Yellow Shirt Army” received the first-place award.  The photo, taken by Doug Rogers, features a Washington Association Disaster Relief team working at a home in Baldwin County following Hurricane Sally. Doug also received a third-place award in the Writing division for a script called “Just for Kids,” designed to teach children all about the Myers-Mallory State Missions Offering. If you haven’t had a chance to view this video, take a look and be sure to share it with the children’s leader at your church.

We appreciate the opportunity to partner with each of you in telling the story of what God is doing through the State Board of Missions and the Cooperative Program. These honors are not simply recognitions of the work of our office but of all the tremendous efforts you make on a daily basis to serve our churches and our Lord. Kudos to all!

Also, our friends at The Alabama Baptist received several awards, but most notably they were honored with the Grand Prize Award for Significant Achievement in Religious News Writing for their COVID-19 series. Congratulations to them!
