Well, Alabama Baptist, it is that time of year again. As the summer approaches, and COVID seems to be lifting in terms of all the concern we have about it. We look forward to some kind of normalcy related to events like Vacation Bible School. The theme this year is Destination Dig.

I’ve looked over the materials and I think every church will enjoy the experience of Vacation Bible School. I’ve said so many times before, but I’ll say it again. I tie my conversion experience to Vacation Bible School and I love the experience of hearing from our churches how well it is being done in local settings. I also will tell you, I firmly believe it is the number one best opportunity for evangelism and reaching young children.

Remember also, the Southern Baptist Convention meets June 15, 16. I hope you can come. It’d be a time of which we can fellowship together, and be able to be brought up to date as to the efforts in our Southern Baptist family of reaching the world for Christ. If you cannot go, please pray for your fellow Southern Baptists, as they gather in Nashville on June 15 and 16. T
