For several weeks, many Alabama Baptists have been gathering for an online Call to Prayer, each Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Next Wednesday, April 22, our online prayer time will focus on praying specifically about joy. I’m reminded of one of the shortest verses in Scripture, 1 Thessalonians 5:16, which says, “Rejoice always.”

For some, the word “rejoicing” may sound like Christians are to be on a spiritual high all the time. But it actually means that we have joy in our hearts, transcending circumstances.

The focus next Wednesday will be a prayer for each one of us as believers to maintain a joyful spirit during this unusual, challenging time.

All members of our state convention family are invited to participate — pastors, church staff, associational missionaries and any Alabama Baptist church member with a heart for prayer.

Now as always and now more than ever, prayer is vitally important. Please consider joining us next Wednesday as we pray for joy, with joy, to our Lord during the online Call to Prayer.
