Job Description Summary
The Youth Pastor will lead and organize a practical Youth Ministry implementing fellowship, worship, Biblical teaching, discipleship, and evangelism. The Youth Pastor will be the catalyst in establishing a doctrinally and operationally sound Youth Ministry that will provide essential benefits to the youth in preparation for the subsequent phases of their lives. Under the teachable direction of the Senior Pastor, the Youth Pastor will coordinate children and youth programs within – Children’s Church, Bible Study, Youth Revival, Easter and Christmas presentations, Youth Counselors, and Youth Advisory Council.
Requirements:
1. Must be a baptized (immersed) believer.
2. Fully believe and support the entire Bible as God’s Word. Passionately skilled and passionate Bible teacher/instructor. Some biblical training. Articulate verbally and in writing
3. Skilled in maintaining relational, spiritual, and professional relationships/trust with church leaders and congregation members.
4. Willing to submit to a criminal background check. Must agree to maintain integrity with the church.
5. Understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Steward Children’s Church, Youth Revival, Easter, and Christmas presentations.
Provide adequate Bible Studies from Christian Education Ministry and Youth Fulfillment Hour (Sunday School).
Create, develop, and coordinate a Children and Youth worship team in collaboration with the Music and media department.
Provide supervision for all children and youth outreach, in-reach activities, retreats, mission experiences, summer events, youth nights, and camps. Disciple and evangelize young people in developing their spiritual, and leadership skills.
Lead Children and Youth Ministry Teams made up of volunteers and parents. Train and equip volunteers to serve in the Children and Youth Ministry as small group leaders. Mentor youth leaders to minister to the youth.
Plans, coordinates, and supervises well-balanced Christian recreational activities in conjunction with the Recreation/Sports Ministry Director with the goal of helping the children and youth in their overall spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental development.
Build relationships with Children and Youth and Ministry teams. Recruit youth and community members to participate in youth ministry from surrounding schools and neighborhoods. Routinely visit/support youth at their respective schools and/or extracurricular activities.
Work with the Senior Pastor in planning and promoting special projects as needed. Other duties as required and requested by the Senior Pastor. Serve as an ex-officio member of all teams or committees and activities of the Children and Youth Department.
Set the calendar and budget for youth activities and events and oversee related accountability.
