Youth Pastor

Job Description for a Youth Pastor (Full time):
First Baptist Butler Church Vision:
We exist to glorify God and make disciples by developing 3 main relationship in each individual: Inward relationship with Jesus Christ, Upward relationship cultivated by worship and discipleship, and Outward relationship through ministry and missions.
Objective:
The Youth Pastor is to lead an effective and comprehensive ministry that disciples/equips families, youth of the church and surrounding community in accordance with the overall vision and philosophy of the Senior Pastor.
Personal Requirements:
• Mature relationship with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior
• Regular practice of spiritual disciplines
• A person of prayer
• A person of integrity who has a good reputation with those inside and outside the church
Knowledge/Gifting/Skills/Abilities/Experience:
• Ability to connect relationally with youth and parents
• Good teaching ability and communication skills
• Ability to work alongside others to see that the objectives are accomplished
• Be able to develop and implement a strategy
Responsibilities:
• Recruiting and equipping a team of volunteers in the Youth Ministry that leads to sustainability in these ministry areas
• Create a safe environment for Youth that encourages spiritual growth.
• Encourage and equip parents in their role as primary discipler of their children. Support them in teaching and mentoring their children in a life of following Christ.
• Focus on discipleship and mentoring with students while teaching sound biblical doctrine.
• Be involved in the community, seeking out relationships with those that do not know Christ.
• Fill in the pulpit in the absence of the Senior Pastor
• Any other miscellaneous duties assigned by the Senior Pastor or Deacon body

• The Youth Pastor is part of the Staff and accountable to the Senior Pastor as well as the church congregation.
