Position Overview:
The Worship Minister at Concord Baptist Church is responsible for leading and overseeing the worship ministry, creating a meaningful and engaging worship experience for our congregation, while also having a separate primary occupation outside of the church.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead worship services in collaboration with the senior pastor and other church leaders, considering the constraints of a part-time role.
- Select, prepare, and upload music for services, including special music.
- Direct and coordinate rehearsals for the worship team and musicians, with consideration for volunteer availability.
- Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers involved in the worship ministry.
- Ensure that all aspects of the worship service align with the church’s beliefs and values.
- Direct the audiovisual team to ensure high-quality sound and visual elements during services.
- Provide pastoral care and spiritual support to members of the worship team.
- Stay current with trends in worship music and technology to enhance the worship experience, despite time limitations.
Qualifications:
- Must have experienced conversion and believer’s baptism
- Must be in good standing and actively involved as a member of the local church.
- Must have experience, passion and giftedness in leading worship as well as discipling, and developing God’s people to grow and mature as followers of Christ.
- 1- 2 years of church ministry experience is preferred.
- Possess a strong vocal ability to lead congregational worship.
- Proficiency in playing musical instruments and arranging music.
- Knowledge and proficiency of church sound systems, including Planning Center.
- Should be people oriented and able to work effectively across a broad spectrum of age.
- Ability to identify potential leaders and volunteers by matching individual spiritual gifts and talents with ministry opportunities.
- Computer skills, including social media and website formats.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in music, worship ministry, or a related field (preferred).
