Student Pastor Job Description
The Student Pastor shall:
1. Be a Christian dedicated to serving students, grade 7-12, and leading them in their walk with Christ
2. Maintain an active personal walk with Christ
3. Under the leadership of the Senior Pastor, assist in the overall ministry of FBC Moody
4. Serve as the ministerial pastor, organize and direct all ministries to students from 7-12th Grade
5. Work cooperatively in conjunction with other staff members and committees to coordinate and supervise: Sunday School, Discipleship, and Wednesday Services as related to students
6. Direct and supervise all student ministries including but not limited to: fellowships, Bible studies, camps, retreats, mission projects, fellowships and other student activities
7. Maintain regular attendance at Sunday School, Morning Worship, Evening Worship, Wednesday night services, outreach, and other church programs or activities
8. Be responsible for ensuring that all student activities are placed on the church calendar in a timely manner
9. Actively participate in the evangelism and outreach programs of the church specifically giving attention to students and families
10. Arrange and supervise the approved transportation of students to all student ministry events
11. Be willing to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and serve as a driver for student events. Also, when available, assist with the other transportation needs of the church
12. Be an ex-officio member on any committees (including Church Council) pertinent to student ministries
13. Work closely and collaboratively with the members of the Youth Committee
14. Provide written articles, information, newsletters, blogs, websites, etc. containing information pertinent to student ministry
15. Prepare and follow an annual student ministry budget and submit to the Finance Committee in a timely manner
16. Work cooperatively in conjunction with the Minister of Worship in any student music activities
17. Maintain an active presence in the local schools, including but not limited to: First Priority, FCA, athletic events, band events, etc
18. Attend weekly staff meetings for Bible study, prayer, planning, and communication
19. Develop and maintain strong lines of communication with all parents keeping them informed of events, activities, Bible studies, etc
20. Assist pastor as a prayer and accountability partner
21. Assist in pulpit as needed by Senior Pastor
22. Assist in Pastoral Care ministry of the church, including regular hospital visitation
