Student Minister

Maplesville Baptist Church is prayerfully searching for a youth ministry leader to partner with the pastor and other staff, parents and volunteers to provide gospel-centered teaching and relevant practical life application of biblical principals in an informative and engaging way to the young people that are in the sixth through twelfth grades in our community. This minister will be under the supervision and authority of the pastor and offered as part-time or bi-vocational.
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Pray diligently for the ministries at MBC
● Teach God’s word and exemplify faithful Christian life
● Create a safe and welcoming environment for youth and parents
● Build a team of volunteers to assist in the necessary areas of youth ministry, activities,
teaching and supervision
● Build relationships with families of youth
● Reach out to schools and community organizations to open doors for service activities
● Work with the pastor and other leaders to connect the youth ministry to the whole church
● Provide spiritual guidance and counseling to youth and families
● Provide opportunities for interaction with youth from other churches
● Fill the pulpit on occasion and when necessary
Required Skills & Characteristics:
● A calling to youth ministry
● Belief in Jesus as Savior and display the evidence of a relationship with God
● Great communication and interpersonal skills
● Passion for sharing biblical gospel-centered messages to young people, with practical
life application
● Creativity and a willingness to try new things for reaching kids, teens, and young adults
with the gospel
● Excellent organizational skills for managing events, programming, and teams of people
