Position: High School Youth Pastor/ Discipleship Pastor (Full-time)
Salary: $40,000 – $50,000 (Based on Experience)
Job Description:
Eastaboga Baptist Church is a church committed to loving God and loving others. Our desire is to be a Kingdom people who proclaim and live by the truths of God’s Word and who expand God’s Kingdom through evangelism, discipleship, and missions. We are a growing Church located in northern Talladega County, bordering Calhoun County in Alabama. We are situated between three different school districts (Lincoln, Munford, and Ohatchee) and have a diverse body of believers made up of residents between both counties and others.
EBC is currently looking for a full-time Sr. High/ Discipleship Pastor who will partner with the Jr. High Student Pastor, overseeing the student ministry at EBC. Also, as a secondary role, this position will oversee all the Discipleship ministries at EBC.
Sr. High Pastor Duties include:
1. Meet the Biblical qualifications as an overseer/ pastor as described within the scriptures, specifically 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
2. Oversee and maintain the Sr. High ministries as well as partner with the Jr. High Pastor at EBC to oversee the Student Ministries as a whole.
a. Ministries Pertain to:
i. Communicating the Word of God through preaching and teaching on a level through which children and students of Sr. High age can comprehend.
ii. Intentionally engaging students with the Gospel as the Spirit guides and leads.
iii. Leading by example.
iv. Encouraging, equipping, and training leaders for use within the church and ministry.
v. Counseling students and parents with issues pertaining to the child/student.
vi. Planning, organizing, and managing fellowships, events, activities, camps, and retreats, creating an active and conducive environment for Godly relationships, spiritual growth, discipleship, and unity amongst the Sr. High.
vii. Engaging the students at their schools, lunchrooms, and sporting events.
viii. Being available for speaking engagements for sports teams and ministries employed by the local schools like:
1. First Priority
2. Devotionals for football teams and Band
ix. Engaging in the social communication realm with the students through media usage.
x. Seek new Sr. High prospects in the surrounding communities and their families.
3. The Sr. High Pastor will manage and be a good steward of the Student Ministry budget, planning and proposing future additions or subtractions to the budget, as needed.
Discipleship Pastor Duties Include:
1. Meet the Biblical qualifications as an overseer/ pastor as described within the scriptures, specifically 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
2. Oversee and maintain the Discipleship ministries at EBC.
a. Ministries Pertain to:
i. Overseeing EBC’s Sunday Bible Study classes and curriculum.
ii. Overseeing and managing one-on-one discipleship processes.
1. Keeping up with and communicating who needs to go through EBC’s one-on-one discipleship process (who is signed up) and who is available (signed up) to take on new disciples of Christ.
2. Identifying great pairs for the process.
3. Contacting disciple makers with new prospects.
iii. Overseeing and managing active D-Groups and the startup of new ones.
iv. Overseeing and managing all Discipleship material for EBC.
3. Be evangelistic and a disciple maker.
4. Be a good steward of the Discipleship ministry’s budget, planning and proposing future budgets as needed.
Other Duties Included:
1. The Sr. High Pastor/ Discipleship Pastor will assist and help other areas of ministry, providing a team effort and working well with other staff.
2. The Sr. High Pastor/ Discipleship Pastor will engage in other ministries within EBC such as:
a. D-Life or D-Groups
b. Evangelism Outreach
c. Missions
3. The Sr. High Pastor/Discipleship Pastor will continue to seek spiritual growth, maturity, and furtherance of education, if possible.
4. The Sr. High Pastor must be a good communicator, able to preach in the absence of the Sr. Pastor.
5. It’s a bonus if you are tech savvy and able to use Pro Presenter 7, create graphics, media, etc.!
Length of Time to Fill This Position and Process:
*We are starting our search for this position anew and will be accepting resumes for 3 weeks. At the end of the 3rd week, our personnel team will meet for 1 week (on the 4th week), as we narrow down the resumes and candidates for the Sr. High Discipleship Position. After that 4th week, our personnel team will send out questionnaires to the top candidates. We will then accept questionnaires for 2 weeks. After that, we will begin to call references and make individual calls to the candidates to identify the top 3 candidates. The top 3 candidates may be asked to travel to meet the staff/personnel team at EBC and survey the campus at EBC (EBC will cover travel expenses and Hotel, if needed). This process should take around 6 to 8 weeks from start to finish.
