Slackland Baptist Church, Leesburg, AL is seeking a full-time/bi-vocational Pastor whom God has chosen for our church. Our loving, motivated, giving, and compassionate congregation needs an experienced, dynamic man to lead and equip us in serving the Lord and our community. Profound, relevant, and practical sermons in a variety of presentations are welcome, including teaching and discipleship. He should meet all the Biblical qualifications of a Pastor set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, be an ordained Southern Baptist Pastor in doctrinal alignment with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000), and a strong leader who is able to work well with other staff and volunteers. We are seeking a candidate who is an effective communicator of God’s Word and who is excited to lead a church to reach its full potential for Christ!
Sunday morning worship attendance is currently approximately 80, with the potential for growth. The church was established in 1845, with two building expansions in the past. An adjacent pastorium is offered if desired.
Leesburg is situated along the banks of beautiful Weiss Lake and at the base of Lookout Mountain in rural Cherokee County, Alabama, with bountiful fishing, boating, lakeside recreation, hunting and hiking, and is ripe for local ministry opportunities. It is also located approximately 30 minutes from Gadsden, AL, and an hour from larger cities of Rome, GA; Chattanooga, TN; and Birmingham, AL.
