Are you gifted at creating content as a mode of ministry (writing, podcasts, small group materials)? Being a pastor in a rural setting may be for you. Summary: The rural replanter will join the church on mission in the community as we engage our neighbors with the gospel of Jesus Christ. This role will be a pastoral role that will be positioned to be sent as planter or replanter within 12-24 months. This position will be tasked with assistance and partnership in all areas of church leadership including preaching. Expectations/Responsibilities: – Assist lead pastor with administrative responsibilities of the church. – Assist with team leadership and development. – Serve as elder within the defined church structure. – Engage the community with the gospel through relational and missional development. – Serve and assist in leadership with teams in engaging community needs. – Assist lead pastor with preaching/teaching responsibilities as needed. Core Characteristics: – Passion to pursue the lost. – Passion to connect people to Jesus. – Passion to lead into joyful obedience of God’s Word. Core Competencies: – Able to teach and preach God’s Word with accuracy. – Able to explore and express vision to the church. – Need administration and organization skills. – Comfortable teaching in groups and individuals. – Has doctrinal and theological grasp of the Bible. Requirements: – Educational background in theology and biblical studies. – Training or willing to be trained in church planting. – Agreement doctrinally with lead pastor and church. – Alignment with the missional purposes of the church. – Meets biblical qualifications as an elder. – Willing and called to be sent by church and network to plant/replant in 12-24 months. Compensation: Although compensation is an ongoing conversation, starting compensation will be a stipend and housing. Our pastors engage the community missionally through marketplace employment and there are opportunities to raise support.
