Wilmer Baptist Church exists as a body of believers who want to love Jesus, love people, and make disciples. We are prayerfully seeking a Preschool Minister who is passionate about helping children know, love, and follow Jesus.
Position Summary
The Wilmer Children’s Ministry exists for children from birth-5th grade. The Preschool Minister provides vision, leadership, and direction for our Preschool Department in alignment with the Churches Mission and under the guidance of the Children’s Minister. Our mission is to partner with parents as we teach kids to have hearts that love Jesus, minds that think like Jesus, and lives that follow Jesus.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and oversee Preschool Department during Sunday AM extended session, Sunday Children’s Church, Wednesday Nights, and Special Events.
• Recruit, train, and support volunteers to serve effectively and joyfully.
• Plan, organize and staff all programs listed above.
• Develop age-appropriate curriculum and programming that teaches biblical truth and aligns with Wilmer Baptist Church doctrine.
• Create a safe, secure, and loving environment for all children; ensure compliance with church safety and protection policies.
• Build relationships with children and families to encourage spiritual development at home.
• Assist in planning seasonal events such as Vacation Bible School, holiday programs, and family outreach events.
• Collaborate with pastoral staff to integrate children’s ministry into the overall mission of the church.
• Work closely with Children’s Minister on Preschool budget and resources.
• Communicate regularly with Children’s Minister, parents, volunteers, and church leadership.
Qualifications
• A personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ; affirmation of Baptist doctrine and commitment to the mission of the church.
• Passion for children’s ministry and demonstrated experience working with children and families.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to recruit, equip, and shepherd volunteers.
• Creativity, flexibility, and a team-oriented mindset.
• Prior ministries experience preferred.
• Must pass a background check.
