Newton Baptist Church located in Newton, Alabama, north of Dothan is seeking a Bible beliveving, Gospel preaching, doctrinally sound pastor that fulfills the standard outlined in 1 Tim. 3:1-7. We are seeking a leader that would help us reach the local community for Christ. There is a fertile mission field in the form of a local elementary school which is open to weekly Bible devotional meetings. The pastor will be expected to perform the following duties.
Prepare and conduct worship sevices Sunday morning/evening and Wednesday evening.
Serve as the leader in seeking the unsaved and unenlisted.
Provide administration for the entire church program.
Supervise members of the church staff to include the worship minister, youth minister and secretary.
Lead the church in visiting members and prospects.
Work with deacons, church officers and committess in performing assigned responsibilities.
Act as moderator for church business meetings.
Lead the church in cooperation with associational, state, and denominational leaders.
Perform weddings and funeral services.
Represent the church in civic matters.
