Mt Signal Baptist Church is seeking a part-time Worship Leader to plan and lead Sunday morning worship gatherings. This is a W-2, paid position offering $200 per week.
Mt Signal Baptist Church is a small but growing congregation and we are looking for a musically gifted and called individual to join us in leading congregational singing and praise on Sunday mornings.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan and lead worship services on Sunday mornings
2. Select appropriate songs and hymns for each service
3. Coordinate with the Teaching Pastor to ensure worship aligns with the weekly message
4. Lead Wednesday night rehearsals with instrumentalists and singers
5. Prepare song lyrics for displaying on screen during services, as needed
6. Provide direction and guidance to the worship team, including instrumentalists and singers
Requirements:
1. Faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to walking faithfully with Him
2. Baptized into Christ as a believer
3. Meets the Biblical standards of leadership in the church (1 Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-9, etc. note that this is not a pastoral position but the character requirements are similar)
4. Proficiency in playing piano and/or guitar
5. Understanding of music arrangement and theory
6. Ability to lead and communicate effectively with the worship team and congregation
7. Strong organizational and planning skills
8. Willingness to actively participate in the life and ministry of Mt Signal Baptist Church
The Worship Leader will report directly to the Teaching Pastor and work closely with the worship team to lead our congregation in worshipping the Lord through singing, Scripture reading, and prayer.
