Summary: The Minister to Women at First Baptist Church will be the champion and leader for women’s ministry at the church. This individual will engage women in the church to utilize their gifts, grow in Christ-likeness, participate in community, and encourage women of all ages in their faith. Congregational and Staff Relationship:
A. Be a God-called person viewing their primary role as a minister of the gospel who consistently represents the love and light of Jesus Christ to everyone you encounter.
B. Exhibit care and concern for all ministries and programs of First Baptist Church, Montgomery.
C. Coordinate actions with other ministers and office staff as appropriate and as a cooperative and encouraging teammate.
Primary Responsibilities:
A. Create and develop a ministry specifically for women of all ages and stages to connect with one another as they grow in their relationship with the Lord.
B. Set a vision for women’s ministry at the church and implement strategies to reach women.
C. Work alongside Associate Pastor for Discipleship to offer opportunities for women to mentor and disciple one another.
D. Facilitate fellowship, discipleship strategies, serving opportunities, and inreach/outreach efforts for women across the church.
E. Assist the Minister to Preschoolers and Minister to Children in caring for moms and equipping moms in motherhood. Assist Minister to Single Adults in encouraging and equipping single women.
F. Engage women inside the church to reach women outside the church through evangelism, outreach, discipleship, and fellowship.
G. Utilize opportunities to gather women together for fellowship and encouragement.
H. Manage the budget for women’s ministry and steward resources well.
I. Develop a Women’s Leadership Team to engage women of all age groups.
J. Work alongside the church’s Woman’s Missionary Union to collaborate in conjunction with one
another in ministry and mission efforts.
Other Responsibilities:
A. Attend weekly church staff meetings (and other special staff meetings as needed).
B. Model servant and Christ-centered leadership.
C. Perform other duties as requested by the Senior Pastor.
