Position Description
The Minister of Music & Worship will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the music and worship ministries of Arbor Springs Baptist Church. He will work alongside the Pastor and volunteers serving in these respective areas to carry out this mission in accordance with the vision, values, and beliefs of ASBC, in a manner that is worthy of our calling as followers of Jesus Christ.
Responsibilities
1. Provide leadership and oversight of all aspects of the music ministry, including instrumental, vocal, and technical, for both traditional and contemporary elements. This includes recruiting, training, and mobilizing people to serve in the different areas of the worship ministry.
2. Work with the Pastor and other ministry leaders to plan Sunday morning worship services, incorporating various elements, including Scripture reading, testimonies, special music, etc.
3. Lead and/or coordinate the congregational singing portion of the worship service and find a replacement in the event of his absence.
4. Ensure that all instruments, hardware, and software belonging to ASBC and related to the music ministry are suitable and properly maintained; Administer finances related to the music and worship ministry of ASBC.
5. Perform other duties as assigned by the Pastor, including teaching, counseling, and visitation, etc.

The Minister of Music & Worship is expected to 1) be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ who consistently demonstrates the qualities of a faithful disciple – love and service, exemplifying the character and competencies that are to be evident in a gospel minister; 2) be a gracious model of servant leadership to the church, faithfully carrying out his responsibilities on time and with joy; 3) diligently pursue his own spiritual growth through the disciplines of Bible reading, study, prayer, and continuing education/training; 4) enthusiastically support the pastoral vision & leadership of the church.
