About This Role

The Middle School Pastor, in collaboration with the Next Generation Pastor, fulfills the purpose and vision of The Station Church through student ministry. This role is responsible for the spiritual growth and development of middle school students (grades 6–8) through weekly programs and periodic special events. The Middle School Pastor plays a key role that includes providing vision, leadership development among Middle School adult volunteers, and facilitating outreach and discipleship to students in grades 6–8.

Primary Responsibilities and Tasks of the Middle School Pastor

In a collaborative effort with the Next Generation Pastor, plan, develop, and execute biblically accurate, high energy, culturally relevant outreach events and programs for students.
Organize and coordinate middle school ministry that includes a balance of Bible study, mentoring, recreation, worship through music, fellowship, and missions.
Recruit and train adult volunteer leaders for middle school ministry.
Plan and direct all middle school ministry events such as retreats, weekly Bible study, mission trips, summer camps, etc.
Provide counseling to meet the unique needs of young people and their parents (referring to outside Christian counselors as necessary).
Develop a program with an emphasis on discipleship and mentoring that meets the unique needs of the parents of middle school students and seeks to involve them.
Manage the budget and use of student/church facilities.
Develop relationships in the community with schools and organizations to build a bridge between the church and our community.
Create and manage a middle school student ministry calendar that drives all activities, events, and teaching in the ministry.
Serve as a member of the pastoral leadership team performing baptisms, weddings, funerals, etc. as part of a rotating schedule.
