The successful candidate will assume a range of responsibilities in the following areas, including, but not limited to:
Duties – Responsibilities:
• Proclaim the Word of God in a regular pulpit ministry
• Oversee pastoral staff. Provide direction for the church programs.
• Provide leadership and vision for the church. Direct plans for ministry and church growth.
• Motivate, equip and nurture the people of the church through example, preaching and teaching God’s Word and spiritual counseling.
• Spend significant time in prayer and Bible study.
• Facilitate the contact/visitation of hospitalized or grieving church members.
• Officiate at weddings and funerals.
• Counsel with, and assist in training deacons for their responsibilities.
• Participate in evangelism efforts through preaching and giving invitations during worship services, revival or other special services, visitation and other outreach efforts.
• The Pastor, when possible, shall moderate all business meetings of the church.
• Work with various standing and special committees in accomplishing their respective duties.
• Lead in observance of the ordinances of the church.
• Cooperate with local, state, and denominational leaders in matters of mutual interest and concern; keep the church informed of denominational developments; represent the church in denominational and civic matters
• Coordinate with Security Team to ensure security is available for all services and activities on Church grounds.
Additional Qualifications:
• Converted and called to the pastoral ministry.
• Licensed and ordained as a minister of the Gospel of Southern Baptist churches.
• Spiritual and personal integrity and maturity.
• Ability and willingness to share Christ and disciple others.
• Positive human relations skills.
• Obvious motivational skills.
• Ability to communicate well through a pulpit ministry.
• Proven love for the fellowship of a local church.
• Ability to empathize with the deep concerns of the congregation
The successful candidate will have demonstrated, and continue to demonstrate, the fruits of the Spirit as found in Galatians 5:22-26 as well as the requirements of overseers as found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7.
