Financial Coordinator

The mission of Whitesburg Baptist Church is to “help people encounter Jesus and experience life change.” The full-time Financial Coordinator position will support this mission by providing vital financial and operational support that impacts every ministry area.

 Preference given to individual who is a regular attending member of Whitesburg, in process of, or willing to becoming a member

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
 Process all aspects of accounts payable and receivable
 Maintain all financial accounts including checking accounts, fund balances, and investments held or processed by Whitesburg
 Review contribution reports and attributes
 Prepare bank reconciliation
 Process expense reports/POs
 Prepare and perform journal entries
 Assist in preparing, production and distribution of month-end, fiscal-end, and annual reporting/ financial statements for both Ministry Areas and Finance Committee
 Assist is annual Ministry Plan (budget)
 Assist with record retention, archiving and destruction to ensure proper record keeping/ documentation
 Assist with annual financial review and audits with outside company
 Monitor internal controls and accounting procedures, compliance with regulations and laws
 Work with and develop strong relationships with primary bank and financial institutions
 Receive, record and deposit in appropriate accounts all funds give or mailed to the church
 Review and assist in adjusting/implementing financial policies and procedures

Other Requirements/Qualifications:
 Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business (preference given to CPA but not required)
 Experience in both cash and accrual-based accounting
 Experience with ACS/Realm church software (preferred but not necessary)
 Proficient computer skills, especially with MS Office suite (Excel)
 Be able to handle information in a confidential manner
 Be able to handle distractions and interruptions in a graceful way
 Strong organizational skills with analytical and problem-solving mindset
 Be willing to receive other duties as directed by Business Administrator
