Family Pastor

College Park Baptist Church

Reports to:
Lead Pastor

Summary of Position:
The Family Pastor of College Park Baptist Church is responsible for the oversight of all ministries from birth to 12th grade. Primary focus may be centered on Children or Students based on the call and gifting of the Family Pastor, thus requiring oversight of volunteer and/or paid staff. The Family Pastor is responsible for encouraging the growth of spiritually healthy families through providing leadership, pastoral care, outreach, and educational services.

Student Ministry Expectations:
Serve as the primary Student Ministry speaker/teacher, teaching God’s Word in a way that is both relevant and biblically sound.
Direct and conduct weekly Student gatherings, including large and small groups.
Organize and involve students in special events for study and growth, such as youth camps, retreats, conventions, outreaches, recreation, etc.
Plan an annual student mission trip (in-country or overseas).
Plan, submit, and track an annual student ministry budget.
Establish and maintain healthy relationships with local schools.
Attend extracurricular activities of students when possible.

Children Ministry Expectations:
Develop and train ministry leaders to share in the duties of children’s ministry.
Organize systems and structure for children’s ministry (volunteer schedules, safety guidelines, determining age divisions, cleaning guidelines, etc.).
Plan and direct regular events for fellowship and outreach to families in our community.
Organize and provide equipment needed for effective ministry to children and families.
Plan, submit, and track an annual children’s ministry budget.
Establish and maintain healthy relationships with local schools.
Attend extracurricular activities of children when possible.

General Expectations:
Become a member of College Park Baptist Church
Attend staff meetings
Meet with Lead Pastor regularly for accountability and encouragement. The Family Pastor is directly accountable to the Lead Pastor in all matters relating to his ministry and conduct.
Participate in all general church services and functions
Maintain office hours in balance between expectations for a member of the church staff and the realities of effective ministry.
Maintain regular prayer, study, and serving.
Maintain balance in ministry and personal life.

Qualifications:
Previous experience in children and/or student ministry preferred
Formal biblical training or education preferred (may be in progress)
A pastoral call and lifestyle consistent with the biblical requirements for church leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-9)

Salary/Benefits:
Salary range: $38,000-$42,000 annually, commensurate with educational level and experience
PTO of 5 days annually (does not accrue)
Vacation time of two weeks annually (one week can be rolled into the following year)
Other benefits will be negotiated in the hiring process based on the needs of the candidate.
