General Job Description:
This position is to assist West Blocton First Baptist to maintaining the core concept of teaching our children to love and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. This will be fulfilled by providing a curriculum for the Children’s Ministry, that will assist the Children’s Minister and Auxiliary teachers in what to teach during Sunday School, Children’s Church and Wednesday Night for ages: Kindergarten – 3rd Grade, and 4th – 7th Grade.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
● Research Children’s Ministry curriculum resources for weekly rotation.
● Maintain and advise on Children’s Ministry Budget
● Recruit volunteers for Sunday School, Children’s Church, and Wednesday Night positions that are needed, personally cover gaps or no shows.
● Be in attendance every Sunday and Wednesday to lead and manage children’s program
● Weekly Service Rotations:
o Children’s Minister Rotation
▪ Teach Sunday School weekly (4th Grade – 7th Grade)
▪ Teach Wednesday night class weekly (4th Grade – 7th Grade)
o Auxiliary Rotation ( Kindergarten – 7th Grade)
▪ Kindergarten – 3rd Grade (Children’s Church and Wednesday Night Service)
● Monthly planning for the Weekly Service Rotations for Sunday School, Children’s Church, and Wednesday Night Class, which will include weekly lesson plans with supplies attach.
● Assist with Vacation Bible School
● Planning of quarterly activities for Children’s Ministry. Ex: Easter, Christmas Programs
● Create and Maintain Children’s Ministry Calendar for Church and Church Website
● Additional duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
Education:
● High School Diploma or Higher
● Degree from a Bible College (preferred / not required)
Experience:
● Experience working with Children K- 6th Grade
● Experience in leading a children’s Ministry (preferred / not required)
Other:
● Faithful attendance of Sunday and Wednesday services
● Leadership Skills
● Organization Skills
● Must pass background check
● Passion for working with Children of various ages
