Children’s Minister/Director of Communication

Antioch East Baptist Church

Children’s Minister/Director of Communications

We are seeking God’s person for a unique opportunity. This is a full-time ministry position that will focus on the spiritual formation of our children and their families as well as help our church to better communicate with each other and the community. The timeshare between these two areas of responsibility will probably start out as 60 percent of time in Children’s ministry and 40 percent time spent in Church Communications.

Children’s Minister’s Responsibilities Summary:
The Children’s Minister will design and implement the entirety of our children’s department, from birth to sixth grade. The strategy to reach these children and their families should include a balance of evangelizing our children, discipling them, and involving them in service and worship opportunities. This includes recruiting and training volunteers, and incorporating the children’s ministry into the broader ministry of Antioch East Baptist Church.

Director of Communication Summary:
The Director of Communication will oversee the communications process between each ministry and will help the staff to better communicate with the congregation and vice versa. This will include directing the print, digital and social media of the church. This person must be excellent in communication of all forms and be willing to analyze and recommend ways to streamline and improve communication.
Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree. Willing to receive additional training to become more proficient in either or both of these areas.
Experience: The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of working within a children’s ministry or multi staff church.

Personality and Temperament:
Potential candidates should be excited about working with children and see their spiritual potential as a welcome challenge and worthwhile pursuit. They must be a team player, work well while unsupervised, be able to meet deadlines, and very well motivated and organized. This individual doesn’t view this as a job but as a God given opportunity to shape the spiritual foundation of a child, help to equip parents, and can help to improve communications. The ideal candidate will also demonstrate servant leadership, an encouraging spirit, and is people and relationship focused.
