Associate Pastor of Youth and Discipleship

First Baptist Church of Spanish Fort

First Baptist Church of Spanish Fort is a traditional Southern Baptist Church that is being blessed and is now needing to expand its ministerial staff. FBC of Spanish Fort is in search of a full-time Associate Pastor with the focus on youth and family discipleship and education. This pastor will work along side of our Senior Pastor to lead the ministries and direction of the church.

Responsibilities:
Youth Ministry Program
Advance a Youth Ministry Program for students in grades 7-12 to include discipleship, evangelism, worship, missions, and fellowship.
Cultivate mentoring relationships with students, parents, and families throughout the week.
Communicate Youth Ministry Program plans with parents and students through regular mailings, electronic communication, and/or parent meetings.
Coordinate the enlisting, discipling, training, and motivating of adults to serve on the Youth Committee and other leadership roles in the Youth Ministry, in cooperation with the Nominating Committee and Senior Pastor.
Coordinate and implement an annual Youth Ministry budget proposal, and administer the budget as approved by the Finance Committee.
Arrange for a regular monthly report to be given at the Church Business meeting by leadership of the Youth Program.

Associate Pastor
Assist the Senior Pastor in the ongoing ministries and direction of the church. Duties in this role will include (but are not limited to) preaching in the absence of the pastor, visitation, calendar planning, meetings, and new ministry opportunities.

Develop and oversee new Discipleship Programs/Small Groups and Sunday School in coordination with the Senior Pastor and church leadership.

Qualifications/Education:
We are seeking an ordained minister who is gifted with communication and relational skills for teaching, preaching, and serving in our church family. Previous ministry experience is preferred. Applicants must exemplify 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9, as well as have a heart for people and a passion to reach the lost with the saving grace of Jesus.

Applicants must have or be in pursuit of a seminary degree from a Southern Baptist Convention or State Baptist Convention supported University.
