North Brewton Baptist Church, located in Brewton, Alabama (about an hour north of Pensacola, FL), is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as Associate Pastor for Student Ministry. The church is primarily looking for candidates with pastoral training and giftings. Some specific responsibilities can be modified to best fit the spiritual gifts, ministry calling, and abilities of the successful candidate. The applicant must be a baptized believer who is currently active in his local church. Qualifications include a love for Christ and the Church, a discernible call to vocational Christian ministry, and a team-player attitude. It is preferred that applicants have, or will soon complete, a seminary degree. Must be able to affirm the Baptist Faith and Message, 2000 and North Brewton’s Church Covenant.

Commitment of the Pastor and Church Leadership to the Successful Candidate:
Weekly meetings with the pastor for a time of prayer, ministry development, and planning
Weekly prayer with other leaders
The church will provide opportunities to apply classroom education to real-life ministry through teaching the Bible, leading in worship services, personal evangelism and discipleship, administrative tasks, and leading volunteers
Principal Function: To lead the church in ministry to youth and college students and to assist the pastor in shepherding the church.
Responsibilities (may be adjusted somewhat according to ministry calling, experience, training, and spiritual gifts):
Engage in the discipleship and evangelism of youth and college students in our congregation and the larger Brewton community
Teach Youth Sunday School and Wednesday Night Bible Study
Lead Student Activities including summer camp, retreats, and mission opportunities
Plan fun and engaging activities for the youth with the purpose of building relationships to facilitate greater opportunities for discipleship and evangelism
Assist the pastor with relational, administrative, and teaching ministries of the church
Preach/teach regularly during services and in the pastor’s absence (according to applicant’s interest and gifting)
Attend committee meetings related to the students and other ministry areas related to the position
Read and discuss books and articles with the pastor to promote ongoing learning and mutual discipleship
This is a full time, entry-level ministry position. A salary, housing allowance, and benefits will be provided.
