ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Overview
The position of the Administrative Assistant at Farley Community Church (FCC) is a very special ministry and very important in a church setting. The person in this position is on the front lines of this ministry and is one of the first person(s) the public sees and talks with. She or he is a reflection of the church and should always remember this.
The person selected for this position should be a Christian with general office skills who truly feels “called to Christian service” and who is willing to go “above and beyond” the personal investment in a job that is considered “normal” in the secular world of work.
Qualifications:
• High School diploma or GED
• Born again Christian who feels called into ministry by God
• Strong communication skills with adults and youth
• Strong computer skills with a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and familiarity with Microsoft Publisher, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe, and Planning Center a plus.
• Experience with electronic file storage and familiarity with cloud storage systems such as Google Drive or DropBox
• Familiarity with or a willingness to learn editing of the FCC website and social media.
• Proficiency in the use of standard office tools (computer and keyboard, phone system, multi-function copier, etc.)
• Strong organizational skills
• Have an excellent command of English composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation

• Should be ever conscious of the need for confidentiality concerning financial records counseling situations, personnel matters, and health matters, etc. of congregational participants which should be kept private unless we have permission to disclose
• Maintains good working relationships with the Church staff and volunteers
• Perform duties in accordance with the bylaws of this church
Responsibilities:
• Receptionist – a) Present positive, warm image; screen calls and take messages. b) Drop-ins – screen according to the schedule of pastor.
• Maintain and organize reception areas
• Order any inventory supplies and equipment
• Organize and maintain an updated church calendar, coordinating campus events with custodian
• Check and answer email and phone calls in a timely manner
• Maintain prayer chain list and other church email lists and use them to send prayer chain messages and documents out in a timely manner
• Prepare and print all documents needed for Sunday worship including bulletins, leader guides, prayer sheets, and presentations
• Keep and maintain accurate membership records
• Assist with the preparation of the Annual church profile
• Attend staff meetings
• Routine filing of paperwork and digital documents
• Immediately notify Pastoral Staff of member hospitalizations, deaths, etc.
• Maintain and update all standard forms, church brochures, and ministry literature
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for maintenance of office equipment
• Maintain church website and Facebook page
• Attend requested meetings with the Personnel Committee and Elders
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities assigned by the Church Pastors and Elders as appropriate
• Participate in the life and ministry of the church
