When I hear college and university campuses across Alabama referred to as a “mission field,” my mind immediately goes to some of the other mission fields I have seen—

– Guatemala
– Ukraine
– South Korea
– Puerto Rico
– Venezuela
– Spain
– Thailand
– United Kingdom

In fact there are many similarities—college campuses have their own customs and languages, there are specific instructions you need to know in order to survive, and there are thousands of students, faculty members and staff who are lost without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

The foundation of any attempt to impact a mission field with the Gospel is prayer. As students head back to school this year, you can play an important part in ministry on the college and university campuses in Alabama by praying for Baptist Campus Ministers, church collegiate ministers, student ministry leaders and all who minister on one of Alabama’s most critical mission fields.

Listen to what I’m telling you:  Open your eyes and look at the fields, for they are ready for harvest.
