The 46th Annual Racial Reconciliation Conference (formerly the Human Relations Conference) is, I believe, a must-attend event. It features a glimpse of what heaven is like. In Revelation 7:14, the Apostle John saw a multitude of all nations and kindred and people and tongues. In the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus taught His disciples to pray, “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.” The Kingdom of God is coming in earth (Matthew 6:10). I believe this conference is important for every believer in Christ Jesus, for God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself (2 Corinthians 5:18-19).

This year’s Racial Reconciliation Conference will be held Friday and Saturday, April 25-26, at Shocco Springs. My desire is not for you to come see this conference but to be an active part of this God moment in the life of our Baptist family. The theme of the conference is “Celebrating Ethnic Diversity in the Preaching of the Gospel.” We will experience the work of the Holy Spirit through the preaching of the Gospel by several ethnic preachers: Anglo, Hispanic, Indian, Haitian, African, Korean and African-American. We are praying for a Pentecostal presence of the Holy Spirit that will empower us as we return to our homes and churches with renewed commitment to racial reconciliation, reaching the lost and realizing the Kingdom of God in earth as it is in heaven through cooperative ministry and missions.
