Your SBOM Provides MinistrySafe Training

In the late 1990s and early 2000s, your Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions (SBOM) began to provide training and procedures to help churches provide a safe environment for children.

SBOM Training Facts

  • In 2015, your state missionaries, along with Alabama WMU staff, began to attend MinistrySafe training to help prevent child sexual abuse.
  • More than 1,300 Alabama Baptist church leaders have been trained since then in MinistrySafe events sponsored by the SBOM.
  • Currently, 100% of all SBOM and WMU staff has completed MinistrySafe Awareness Training.
  • During 2022, persons enlisted by the SBOM and WMU for their camps and events were required to receive the MinistrySafe training. That’s a total of 150 people.

Your church can also benefit from this training provided by MinistrySafe with attorneys Greg Love and Kimberlee Norris who have devoted their life’s work to protecting children and youth from child sexual abuse.

Thanks to a $200 scholarship from your State Board of Missions, any Alabama Baptist church can join MinistrySafe for $50 for the first year (regular price $250).

To access this offer, go to ministrysafe.com/alsbom and sign up with the coupon code alsbom. Your church’s membership begins at the time of signup, runs for a full 12 months, and provides an invaluable online training resource for your staff and volunteers for $5 each.
