The Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions (SBOM) recognizes the desire of Alabama Baptist churches to reach the unchurched. The Church Revitalization ministry is a partnership between SBOM and local churches with the goal of helping churches become more effective in Great Commission ministries.

Church revitalization can happen in two ways. In some situations the revitalization effort is considered a “Legacy Plant,” where church planters essentially start over in the existing facility. For more information on Legacy Plants, contact Rick Barnhart, director of SBOM’s office of associational missions and church planting at 1-800-264-1225, ext. 220.

In other cases existing church leadership will work to retool its outreach and ministries to be more effective in reaching the lost. For more information and resources, contact Dale Huff, director of SBOM’s office of LeaderCare & church administration at 1-800-264-1225, ext. 263. (continued…)
